A book usually asks us to look inside it. At Baku's Museum of Miniature Books, its size is part of the surprise. The collection grew from the work of Zarifa Salahova and brings together tiny books from different countries and publishing traditions.

Try comparing a miniature volume with a book you might carry at home. Then look for the different languages represented. Familiar objects start to feel rather different at this scale. The museum is near the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, so it can make a short change of pace between larger monuments. Check the current visiting arrangements before adding it to your walk.
