The Old City, lane by lane.

Begin near Icherisheher metro and the City Hall, climb into the palace quarter, then follow the lanes downhill to the caravanserais and Maiden Tower. Leave through the Double Gates for Fountain Square.

On foot. The lanes have uneven paving, slopes and occasional steps.

The shorter version stays outside. Allow extra time for the palace and tower museums; check their access and tickets separately. Respect private courtyards in this lived-in neighbourhood.
