The Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall belongs to the decorative world of early twentieth-century Baku. Beside its landscaped garden, the building recalls the ambitions of a city transformed by the oil boom. The Philharmonic is named for the composer Muslim Magomayev, who lived from eighteen eighty-five to nineteen thirty-seven.

The garden offers a way to enjoy the setting without planning an interior visit. Compare the facade with the fountains, steps and planting around it. To experience the hall as a concert venue, consult the current programme. Entry for a performance and access for general sightseeing are different arrangements, so it is worth checking which applies to your visit.

The domes and towers of the facade.
